Colorado isn't just one of the most beautiful states in the country — it's one of the fittest. From the trailheads of the Front Range to the peaks that put us on the map, this is a place where people climb, run, ride, and grind because it's who we are. The Purple Mountain Throwdown was born from that spirit: a summer celebration built to capture everything that makes this state, and this city, extraordinary.

What started as a Colorado Springs throwdown now draws athletes from across the country and around the world to test themselves in the shadow of Pikes Peak. We aim to create an unforgettable experience that brings us all together in fitness and celebration. While providing an arena for athletes to show off their skill and have fun!

Every year, the Purple Mountain Throwdown raises the bar on what a fitness celebration can be:

  • Multiple competition arenas — indoor and outdoor, all inside our flagship venue

  • Full media team & photo/video packages to capture your moment

  • Vendor Village packed with the best in local fitness and lifestyle

  • Live DJ keeping the energy high all day long

  • Prizes for the top 3 in every division — plus cash prizes for RX athletes

The Rocky Mountain State Games is Colorado’s largest annual multi-sport festival, welcoming athletes of all ages and athletic abilities, including those with physical disabilities, visual impairment, and intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to compete in over 35 different sports. Held across premier venues throughout the Pikes Peak region, this Olympic-style competition embodies the spirit of sportsmanship, wellness, and community pride.
